RIOMEX 3000 has been specifically designed for large scale open pit mining operations. Intended to increase blast energy.
MAXAM’s Technical Services help customers use RIOMEX to reduce environment impact, reduce drilling, improve digging and transport rates, and improve crusher output.
Formulated with lower water content and optimal oxygen balance minimizes the risk of generating fumes.
Higher density than RIOXAM. An alternative to ANFO allowing mine flexibility and reduced TCO.
Fully coupled explosive for optimal blast results.
Allows greater pattern sizes, thereby improving efficiency of drilling operations, to potentially increase blasted stocks available for excavation.
High loading rates, improve cycle times, allowing greater sized blasts.
The minimum recommended borehole diameter for augering with RIOMEX 3000 is 101 mm.
Priming requirements - RIOMEX 3000 is formulated to be booster sensitive and requires a minimum of a RIOBOOSTER 400g primer.
Smaller primers may reduce the performance of the explosives and are not recommended with this product. It is recommended to use additional RIOBOOSTERS where there is a risk of column disruption and/or explosive column length exceeds 12m. RIOCORD detonating cord down lines are not recommended for use with this product range.
Water Resistance - Suitable for augering into dewatered boreholes with non-dynamic water.
Sleep time - Up to one week in dewatered boreholes and dependent on hole diameter, density and ground conditions. Check with MAXAM before sleeping RIOMEX 3000 for lengths in excess of 5 days to ensure optimal performance.
Gassing time - Allow at least 30 minutes between loading and stemming blastholes.
Incorrect application of RIOMEX 3000 may result in high levels of undesirable post-blast fumes. Ground Temperature: Suitable for use in ground temperatures between 0º - 55ºC Reactive materials: If RIOMEX 3000 is to be applied in any known or potentially reactive material a testing program must be undertaken before use of RIOMEX 3000, to ensure the inhibiting action of the product is sufficient for the intended application, otherwise MAXAM accepts no responsibility for any loss or liability arising from use of RIOMEX 3000 in reactive material.
RIOMEX 3000 is a on site sensitized explosive, the RIOMEX matrix suspension is sensitized by chemically gassing inside the borehole, then RIOMEX 3000 is not transported or stored. RIOMEX matrix is transported as a non sensitized matrix suspension, classified as an oxidizer 5.1 and should be stored in tanks and silos in accordance with all Local regulations for the storage of oxidizer materials.
