RIOMEX 7000 has been specifically designed for mining, large quarry and construction operations, for use in wet and dry blastholes, to provide an optimum compromise between Heave Energy generation and Shock Energy generation, allowing the optimum equilibrium between fragmentation and mass rock displacement.
RIOMEX 7000 is totally pumpable which facilitates a consistent displacement of the blasthole water interface by loading from the bottom. Its uniform performance is irrespective of water presence in the blastholes, making RIOMEX 7000 a universal bulk explosive for wet and dry conditions.
Blasthole Charge Length - Suitable for blasthole depths up to 30m depending on the specific application.
Minimum Blasthole Diameter - Suitable for blastholes diameters over 70mm.
Priming - It is recommended to initiate this product with at least a RIOBOOSTER 400G in conjunction with RIONEL or RIOTRONIC detonators. RIOMEX 7000 is not designed to be primed with detonating cord.
Ground Temperature - Suitable for use in ground temperatures between 0ºC-55ºC.
Water Resistance - Suitable for pumping into blastholes with non-dynamic water.
Sleep time - Up to three weeks in static ground water and dependent on ground conditions. Check with MAXAM before sleeping RIOMEX 7000 for lengths in excess of 1 weeks to ensure optimal performance.
Gassing Time - Allow about 20 minutes between loading and stemming blastholes.
Incorrect application of RIOMEX 7000 may result in high levels of undesirable post-blast fumes. RIOMEX 7000 should be used, handled and stored with care, ensuring the product is kept away from flames and excessive heat sources.
Flammable atmosphere - RIOMEX 7000 it is not intended for use in flammable or methane atmospheres.
Ground Temperature - Suitable for use in ground temperatures between 0ºC-55ºC.
Reactive materials - RIOMEX 7000 may react with pyritic material in the ground and create potentially hazardous situations. If RIOMEX 7000 is to be applied in any known or potentially reactive materials a testing program must be undertaken before the use of RIOMEX 7000, otherwise MAXAM accepts no responsibility for any loss or liability arising from use of RIOMEX 8000 in reactive material.
Disposal - The disposal of explosive material can be dangerous, ensure the appropriate safety measures have been applied according to the instructions on the Material Safety Data Sheets.
RIOMEX is transported as a non sensitized matrix suspension, classified as an oxidizer 5.1 and should be stored in tanks and silos in accordance with all local regulations for the storage of oxidizer materials.
